housewife life: lots a matzah

I don't always do housewifey things, but when I do I impress the sh*t out of myself. [Disclaimer: you should probably only keep reading IF you consider smothering carbs in chocolate and throwing candy on top "housewifey" AND "impressive".]

I like projects. I like holidays. I like hosting. I like a good weekend DIY [bonus points when I get to impress Ryan and my co-workers with treats]. Hence… the chocolate covered matzah and pretzel project. I am certainly no Betty Crocker or Susie Homemaker or Martha Stewart, so it was a sweet surprise that these turned out both to be a delicious hit and oh-so-pretty to look at.

Easy, beautiful and delicious - if I do say so myself - and I do. If you so desire, I listed the ingredients and the super technical baking directions [ha] below.

Ingredients:

  • Dark chocolate chips
  • Matzah
  • Pretzel rods
  • Sprinkles
  • Peanut butter cups
  • Any additional toppings your heart desires

Directions:

  • Assemble a kitchen workspace putting down aluminum foil or baking sheets for matzah and pretzels to dry on
  • Melt chocolate chips in microwave for 1 minute and stir
  • Dip / brush matzah and pretzels with chocolate
  • Adorn
  • Dry
  • Enjoy
