going places: lake george

We spent the 4th in Lake George. There were fireworks, friends and a ton of tequila. But the rest of the {extra} long {5 day} weekend was spent relaxing, reflecting and refreshing.

I feel so lucky and blessed to experience this amazing part of the Adirondacks each summer - and to be given that time on vacation to stop, breathe and enjoy.

If you haven’t been, then you must. The beauty will overtake you. I actually went bananas over a single cloud in the sky at sunset. Like lost my mind over how beautiful it was. Like to the point that I'm sure people thought I was on something.

There’s a ton to do – or choose to do nothing at all (sometimes just being surrounded by the immense beauty is enough).

Here’s a few highlights and ideas of what to do in the land I love:

  1. Hike Black Mountain (amazing views)
  2. Cliff jumping (once was enough for me!)
  3. Sunsets (ohhh the sunsets)
  4. Ice cream dates at The Wind-Chill in Ticonderoga or Ben & Jerry’s (calories don’t count on vacation)
  5. Long drives on winding roads (windows down, music up)
  6. Shopping and lunch in Bolton Landing (you have to stop by Cate’s for pizza)
  7. Cappuccinos at Bolton Beans (+ an extra espresso shot = a hangover cure, for sure)
  8. Adirondack Extreme Adventure Course (I found my inner monkey)
  9. Swimming (duh!)
  10. Paddleboarding (only one of my favorite things to do)
  11. Boating (fast, slow, whatever)
  12. Sunbathing (Vitamin D please!)
  13. Ping Pong (rule #1 – I always win)
  14. Stargazing (you’ve never seen stars like these)
  15. Be quiet (seriously, just be quiet and chill)

And some photo highlights from this weekend's Adirondack adventure below.

These are the days of our lives,

Lindsey
